Super Saturday as U16s Win League and U12s Finish Runners Up!

Newquay Storm’s U16 Thunder and U12 Whirlwinds Finish Season On A High!

It was a Super Saturday for Newquay Storm as two of the junior teams wrapped up their seasons.

First, U16 Thunder faced two games knowing one win in either would be enough to clinch the Cornwall Division ‘B’ title.

As it happens, they won both, 29-10 against Wadebridge and then an excellent display saw them power to a 38-3 win against Bodmin.

This meant the squad finished unbeaten Champions!

In the afternoon it was the turn of the club’s youngest league team, the U12 Whirlwinds who still had an outside chance of winning the league.

They started exceptionally well, beating Saints Novas 22-0 in the their first game.

Their final game was against the current leaders, Penzance Mermaids, who proved just too strong, winning 11-2.

The results mean that Whirlwinds finish an excellent season as Runners Up!
