Playoffs Confirmed!

Newquay Storm 40 - 43 ENC Nova

Newquay Storm confirmed their place at the End of Season Playoffs for Regional League 2 despite a narrow defeat at home to League Winners ENC Nova.

In a game that was expected to be tight with the top two in the league facing off, the first half was ridiculously topsy-turvy.

Storm took the opening quarter 16-8, but Nova hit back to win the next quarter by 7 leaving the game 23-22 at half time.

With the home side just needing a point to make the Playoffs, the two bonus points confirmed Runners Up spot and a shot at promotion in May.

It’s been an incredible season, from this time last year narrowly getting through the Playoffs into Regional League 3 (South), to losing the opening game, then an incredible 6 game unbeaten run since Christmas to surge up the league table, to finally today confirming their second place.

There’s more netball to come though with the rearranged game against CCNC Lions now scheduled for Sunday 27 April.

Then, of course, the Playoffs in Bristol on Sunday 11 May.
