Steve Massey joins Newquay Storm as a consultant
Newquay Storm welcome former pro footballer Steve Massey to the club to act as an off court consultant.
Newquay Storm has added former professional footballer and manager, Steve Massey, to the “squad” for the forthcoming season. If you want to talk football terms I guess it’s the first signing of the new season!
Massey has come on board to assist with the club’s off court development.
After a professional career playing for Wrexham (and scoring in Europe!), Stockport and Northampton, he went on to manage a hugely successful period in Truro City’s revival and is currently 8 years into a rebuild as Director of Football at Helston.
Massey turned Helston from a Junior club in Cornwall to a side that won last year’s Western League and will be playing the highest level of football they’ve ever achieved.
“We’re thrilled to have Steve on board,” said Club Chair Ellie Blackman. “I can’t wait to have more meetings so we can bounce some exciting ideas around with him.”
Massey, who’s worked with Newquay Storm coach David White previously is also looking forward to it. “I’m absolutely delighted to be involved, this is wonderful news and I’m very excited to see what we can achieve,” he said.
