Newquay Storm is continuing preparations for the club’s first season in the Senior Regional League. This weekend was the pre-season tournament featuring clubs across the South.
Storm were drawn in Pool ‘B’ alongside five other teams.
After three wins and two defeats, both against sides playing two divisions higher in the Regional structure, Newquay Storm finished 3rd in the pool just missing out on a place in the semi finals by two points.
“It was a tremendous effort for our first time,” said Head Coach David White. “It was such a good day, we had a couple of our squad unavailable today but it was a great opportunity to have a run out and look at different combinations, so a very worthwhile tournament for us.”
Storm are now looking forward to the Regional League getting underway for real next Sunday when they face their opening game with a trip to Somerset to play Vivary at Taunton Vale.
